PVC insulated wires in varnished braid for locomotives
PVLT, PVLTE, PVLT-1-1 PVLTE-1 under Belarus quality requirements 16-705.347-84

APPLICATION
PVC insulated wires in varnished braid are designed for fixed locomotive wiring on rated voltage up to 380V, frequency up to 2000 Hz or DC voltage up to 700V at the temperature from -50°С to + 70°С.
PVLT — PVC insulated copper wire in varnished braid;
PVLTE — пPVC insulated copper wire in varnished braid, shielded;
PVLT-1 — thinned PVC insulated copper wire in varnished braid;
PVLTE-1 — thinned PVC insulated copper wire in varnished braid, shielded;
DESIGN
CONDUCTOR — copper wires;
INSULATION — PVC;
BRAID — cotton or combined cotton and synthetic threads (1:1). Coverage is not less than 90 %. Braid impregnated by ethyl cellulose or nitrocellulose lacquer.
SHIELD — мbraid from tinned copper wires or copper wires tinned by 40% ley of diameter 0,12-0.26 mm. Coverage is not less than 70%.
CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTION, mm2 — from 0,35 to 95;.
TECHNICAL DATA
The insulation resistance per 1 km at 20°C should not be less than:
- 500 МОhm for cross-sections up to 2,5 mm2;
- 10 МОhm for cross-sections from 4,0 mm2 and above
Operating temperature range is from -60°C up to +70°C.
Long-term permissible operational heating temperature of conductors is +70˚С.
The wires are operated under various shock and vibration loads. They meet the requirements of increased resistance to bendings, abrasion and bursting. They resist to solar radiation, atmospheric condensate, static dust, mold fungi, to gasoline, hydraulic fluid, kerosene, mineral oil, salt water and do not extend combustion.
Guaranty storage period of wires at storage in closed premises is not less than 5 years.
Average service life is 15 years.
